Eyebrows are a woman’s best fashion accessory. And like fashion, eyebrow styles and shapes have made dramatic transformations over their long standing history. However, if eyebrows are a fashion statement, then the same that is true of fashion is true of eyebrows, not all styles and trends look good on everyone. Just as we all have different body types that demand different cuts and proportions in clothing, our naturally different facial features require a ‘one size does NOT fit all’ shaping approach.
Eyebrow trends have a lengthy history exposing themselves as very straight, dramatically arched, exaggerated in length, medium thickness, very bushy, shaved off and penciled in, arched in the center, arched towards the outer part of the brown, and finally, naturally clean and simple.
Forget about bringing in pictures of your favorite celebrity’s eyebrows. We have to work with the natural shape you were given, the shape that best frames your face and features. Careful measurements determine where the eyebrow begins and ends, and where the arch should be. That is why trying to achieve a brow that you see on a celebrity is not a good idea. You may end up with brows that look very strange on your face.
When I shape someone’s eyebrows for the first time, it’s not about trends, no eyebrow shape can be universally correct for any man or woman. Achieving the perfect brow may take some time. Sometimes clients come in and their eyebrows are waxed in all the wrong places and left too long where it should have been waxed. Therefore, sometimes we have to let hair grow in, so that overtime, the brows become the shape they were meant to be. You will be amazed at how different your face looks when your eyebrows are shaped to enhance your features.
