The difference between the two is the amount of hair removed and from where it is removed.
A bikini wax removes hair from just outside the panty line. Underwear can usually be left on during a bikini wax, or disposable underwear may also be provided.
A Brazilian Bikini usually leaves just a vertical strip in the front of the vaginal area, sometimes referred to as a ‘landing strip’. The strip is approximately 2-3 inches in width.
Today’s Brazilian Bikini wax has also come to include removing hair on the labia and from the peri-anal area as well, sometimes referred to as the Playboy Bikini Wax.
Another wax term in the industry today is The Sphinx. This is a complete removal of all of the hair, everywhere.
Most salons just use the terms Bikini or Brazilian.
