WHAT IS MICRODERMABRASION AND WHATARE THE BENEFITS

What is Microdermabrasion?

Microdermabrasion is a deep exfoliation of the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of skin consisting of built up dead skin cells). Also referred to as microderm, this powerful and progressive skin re-surfacing technique targets and reduces the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, superficial scarring, stretch marks, acne, and sun damage.

Why Microdermabrasion?

There are numerous benefits to microdermabrasion. The procedure is a quick and painless way to rejuvenate and refresh the overall appearance of your skin. One of the most noteworthy advantages is that there is no downtime after treatment. In less than one hour, patients can be in and out and back at work with no major signs of irritation. For this reason, micro is sometimes referred to as the ‘lunch time facial’.

A treatment will gently buff or massage your facial tissues removing dead skin cells, oil, and entrenched impurities. A new skin surface is revealed, healthier and revitalized.

What are the benefits of regular microdermabrasion?

I recommend a microdermabrasion treatment to all of my clients once every 3 months. Whether you use a $7 Oil of Olay moisturizer or a $700 bottle of Crème de La Mer, you want the product to do what it promises to do. No product, no matter how expensive it is, can penetrate through layers of dead skin cells.

Regular and deep exfoliation of the stratum corneum (outer most layer of dead skin cells) will allow penetration and performance of your favorite beauty cream. Get the results you paid for and protect your investment. You must do your part so that the product can do its.

4 times a year is typically all that is needed from your microdermabrasion treatments. Do not be fooled by spas that are telling you to buy six sessions. Most women only need a treatment once every three months to enjoy the benefits of regular microdermabrasion.

What is a Hot Stone Massage?.

What is a Hot Stone Massage?.

Hot stone massage is a variation on classic massage therapy. Heated smooth, flat stones are placed on key points on the body. The massage therapist may also hold the stones and use them to massage certain areas of the body.

How Does Hot Stone Massage Work?

The hot stones are usually made of basalt, a type of rock that is rich in iron, so they retain heat.
River rocks are normally used because they are so smooth - they have been smoothed over time by the river's current. The heat warms and relaxes the muscles, which allows the therapist to apply deeper pressure, if desired. The warmth of the hot stones improves circulation and calms the nervous system.
